Step by step procedures for building Greek Coil Vessel.
|
|
Please submit rubric and sketches to the teacher when your piece is bone dry.
Greek Coil Vessel must be underglazed, please use this rubric when the final coat of clear glaze (high fire) has been applied and fired. |
Unit 2: Modified Slab Box
|
Students are to create a form using the slab method. The form must be adapted beyond the basic 4 walled box (see examples). Students must show some form of fastening or joining for example clay rivets, buttons, stitching, weaving, etc. Please review slab box video demo on the ceramics I page for slab procedures.

Modified Slab Box may be high fire dip glazed, or underglazed (see Greek coil section for underglaze rubric).

For more whimsical teapot ideas, check out my Pinterest board of teapots.
http://www.pinterest.com/HHSCeramics/whimsical-teapot/ RUBRIC NOTE: Each grading category is worth 5 points and should be evaluated using the scale at the bottom of the rubric. The 6 is extra credit and should only be given by the instructor when students go well above the expectations. Whimsical Tea Pots should be underglazed low fired, and then clear glazed. If you are a senior and run out of time they may be high fire dip glazed with teachers permission. |
